Living the disciple’s life is not easy. Isaiah is proud to serve the LORD, but it’s been difficult. Facing opposition and abuse, he relies on God’s help. James preaches that faith obligates us to do good, actually to act on our beliefs. Jesus tells the crowd that whoever follows him must take up their cross. Listening to today’s readings, let us reflect on how our faith challenges us to do more and comforts us as we act in the Lord’s name. ~ from Pastoral Patterns, fall 2021

What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is how people can question, search, and inquire into the Catholic faith. It is a journey that leads many to seek full membership in our Church. For others, this journey may not lead to full membership. Either way, all are welcome to come and see, ask questions, and look more deeply.
Who is the RCIA for?
Seekers and inquirers are non-baptized adults who desire to be fully initiated into the Roman Catholic Church and/or baptized adult Christians who desire full communion in the Roman Catholic Church.
Adults or older children who have not been baptized and desire to join the Church are invited to the ancient celebration of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. During this process, which is marked by regular ritual acts, participants are introduced to the liturgy, the teachings, and the life of the Catholic Church.

What happens in RCIA?
RCIA is a Journey, a process that proceeds over weeks and months. It has several steps:

- Catechumenate

She has11 years of experience listening to individuals on a one-to-one basis, helping them develop and grow in their relationship with God. She was instrumental in the implementation of a Bible Study program within her home parish. She is an author of 2 spiritual books – A Journey of a New Person, Harden not Your Heart, and Companions? Is It Asking Too Much? She has given spiritual reflections, retreats and has been involved in the ACTS movement.
